DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO (North & South Kivu)

 

· In Goma, North Kivu, Eastern DRC, during the Conference on Peace in 2008, made a Documentary of the situation of the women raped in horrendous conditions (gang rapes, fistulas), entitled “LA PAIX VIOLÉE” (“RAPED PEACE”), and screened it to Deputies of the Provincial Assemblies of North and South Kivus; ministered to raped women in different hospitals and centres, preached in several churches and gave a seminar to Youth to mobilize them against this terrible evil

· Brought a team of Rwandan women for peace and reconciliation and to give love to women victims of rape; our Rwandan sisters have supported our documentary “LA PAIX VIOLÉE” (“RAPED PEACE”) and have repented on the evil committed by the Rwandan rebels in Eastern DR Congo

· At the Université Libre des Pays des Grands Lacs, in Goma, Denis Roumestan lectured in International and Development Law, International Private Law, International Public Law, directed students’ thesis, and Conference and Seminar at the Faculty of Theology

· After the eruption of the volcano Nyiragongo (Goma), seminar with churches and psychologists on how to support the victims with a Christian approach, and activities with street children

· In Goma, seminars and radio programmes on the UBUNTU Strategy to mobilize the churches and Christians including youth groups, against the plight of the raped women and children, and how to address the roots, care for the victims, and prevent the increase of these crimes

· In Goma, Denis Roumestan ministered to men on the biblical relationship between husbands and wives versus cultural issues, during a conference on couples

· In Bukavu, South Kivu, during the World March for Women in 2010, conferences on the UBUNTU Stragegy to more than eighty spiritual leaders, lawyers, military officers, human rights activists and the media to introduce the UBUNTU Strategy and set up a Task Force to implement it; presented this Strategy  to Government Officials at the highest level

· The implementation of the UBUNTU Strategy is being followed up continually in Kinshasa and the two Kivus
