Besides preaching in different churches in South Africa (Cape Town and Johannesburg) and Denis’ work as International Consultant with the University of Cape Town for the setting up of the Centre for Comparative Law in Africa, the core of our mission in this region has been the fight against Gender Based Violence (GBV) and, especially implementing the UBUNTU Strategy.





Fight against Gender Based Violence (UBUNTU Strategy)


South Africa (Cape Town)

· In the Strand Township, with the church Bethesda, Conference on GBV during the 16 Days of Activism Against Woman Abuse and Child Abuse

· In the Khayelitsha Township, with the Great Commission Ministers Network (an organization gathering more than 100 pastors and evangelists throughout South Africa) sensitized and mobilized pastors on the UBUNTU Strategy against GBV, assisted families of children victims of rape before the Magistrates Court

· Sensitized the Central Methodist Mission about the UBUNTU Strategy against GBV

· In Kenilworth, presented the UBUNTU Strategy against GBV to The Church of the Nazarene and trained the Gender Based Violence Unit

· On Radio Tygerberg, FM 104, programs on the UBUNTU Strategy against GBV, one of them with a young mother victim of rape who encouraged with us the churches to act

· Participated in conferences on GBV at the University of Cape Town


Namibia (Windhoek)

· Sensitized the church His People about the UBUNTU Strategy against GBV



Other Activities in Cape Town

· In the Gugulethu Township, encouraged the refugees of the Church Those Who Trust in Him to become involved in the community, and organized teams to teach English and computer

· City Bowl Downtown, equipped and encouraged the leaders of Public Square Foundation to center their ministry on bringing more the Word of God to current South African issues

· In the mission house, spiritual meetings with Congolese and Angolan refugees, pastors and journalists

· Participated in the board meetings of the Centre for Families and Refugees in Distress, and assisted in the setting up of activities

· Organized meetings with the Dutch Reformed Church, the Great Commission Ministers Network and Public Square Foundation to expose the bigger need to reconcile groups and communities in South Africa, and find new ways to achieve further healing

· Assisted Canadian missionaries from Bridgehouse Ministries International  (New Brunswick, Canada) in their mission in South Africa

· Participated in the conference organized by the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre on the Constitution of South Africa and the Bill of Rights
